In the beginning, God created all things including man and woman. Everything was great because God had relationship with man and woman, but then man and woman rebelled against God because they were deceived and thought they could be like God and lost trust in Him. The first human’s felt shame for the first time and broken relationship with God because of this first evil. This caused separation between God and man that wouldn’t be fully restored for thousands of years.
God is merciful and patient though and provided a promise of a redeemer that would restore relationship between God and man. He time after time tried to restore relationship with his children only for the relationship to quickly be ripped apart again by sin. He also gave them a law or list of rules. A list of rules doesn’t sound good right? But the law was to show that we can’t reach holiness by our own strength because only God is holy. It showed we need God’s mercy and grace.
So thousands of years passed with many messengers from God continuing to communicate the redeemer’s coming. During this time, man rejected all God’s messengers because of the seed of evil in their hearts from the beginning. Man also did evil things as simple as lying or cheating, or as bad as murder. All these sins big or small made man guilty of punishment, but God because of his mercy and love put in place a temporary form of paying for the evil done by man. It was the sacrifice and shedding of blood by animals. The many sacrifices continued until the redeemer came.
Finally at the peak of the Roman times, the redeemer, the very Son of God in the flesh of man, Jesus was born, lived and taught about his Father, God. He was perfect in every way though he was a man. Men rejected him out of their evil hearts and sent him to death even though he didn’t commit a crime. His punishment was death on a cross and the shedding of his blood. Because Jesus was holy, his sacrifice was the ultimate price for our evil done. God loved us so much he sent his only son, Jesus, to die for us so that we might have relationship once again with him and become sons and daughters of God the Father.
Jesus did not just die though. After 3 days, He raised up from the dead, stayed on earth for 40 days and then ascended to be seated in Heaven with his Father. With Jesus’ death and resurrection, he had victory over death and sin.
Here’s the most important part to you: In order to restore relationship with God, you have to believe in Jesus and accept his sacrifice for your evil done because you were born with the seed of evil in your heart and also, with your whole heart, you have to understand the evil inside you and want to get rid of it. You have to turn from your rebellious ways and accept the Father’s love and accept the invitation to be a son or daughter of God.
When you believe in Jesus, God will dwell inside of you and lead you down good paths with him to freedom from evil. Because relationship is restored through Jesus, we can talk to God and he will speak to us. He will be with us always! When we “fall asleep” we are raised and brought into the presence of the Father in heaven.
If you do not believe in this message, you do not get to experience life with God and are separated forever from God once you die in a place called Hell. Separation from God is separation from life and you truly die.
Believe in God and Jesus his son and be set free and live forever! Accept the Father’s love and be set free from your bondages of evil that have been leading you to death. Jesus promises not only life but life abundant. The life we were made for by our Creator and Father.
