Be careful what you pray for!

Calvin and I were on the way home from his parents house last night and I just started praying in the car. I was asking God for boldness for both of us and telling Him that we wanted to be obedient and that we wanted His will to be done. The second I said that this homeless guy with really long hair and a beard appears out of nowhere on the side of the road waving, trying to get us to stop and give him a ride. It was pitch black outside and we FREAKED out! We were looking at each other and were like, “Are you kidding us, God?” Calvin was like, why couldn’t it have been a cute little girl?  I wish I could tell you Calvin & I stopped and something amazing happened. But it didn’t. We chickened out. We were too scared. We think God probably did it for a reason. I told Calvin that we should have gone back and picked him up. We know that when we go on our mission trip, we will have to trust God with a lot bigger things that picking up a scary homeless man from the side of the road. Maybe next time we will have the boldness! We know for sure that God does hear our prayers! Sometimes he answers them instantly, sometimes it takes awhile. I think we are just supposed to trust and know that He is God! Everything is perfect in His time. We have to believe that if we ask Him for boldness, He is going to give us situations to be bold in! I hope He gives us another chance, so then I can tell you that we did it. We trusted God, we were bold, and we saw His glory being displayed.
