Lost Camera, Gained Perspective

I lost my camera. Well, more appropriately I left it on the bus and it was stolen in 15 minutes. The deep sinking feeling in the stomach followed. I thought of all the sweet photo ops I was going to have in this beautiful place. All gone now!
Since I’m a positive guy, the whole mourning process for my camera lasted no more than 10 minutes. Now I’ve been in McLeod Ganj for more than a few weeks. Although I see some

Welcome to India!

NAMASTE! Many thoughts and prayers over the past 3 months have been centered around this very time. Outreach has begun. We finally arrived in India after about 40 hours of travel. Travel was smooth even with 13 hours or so of layover time. I’m so proud of our team sticking it through-focused and with a great attitude. We are trying to fight to stay awake til 8pm Delhi time so we can fight jet lag! A hard task

Update on Larush: A Vision for Kosovo

I told you about my friend Larush from Kosovo in a previous post. Thanks all who supported him in prayer and finances. He ended up having the funds to go to NYC for outreach! Once in NYC, he hit the ground running and did work with the Christian Embassy. He met ambassadors and government officials from around the world and was able to pray and share the gospel with them. He also partnered with mercy ministries and churches around NYC. This outreach

How Jealous is our God?

God has been showing me just how jealous he is for my heart, your heart, and the hearts of the lost! Also, note jealousness is not like what we think of as negative emotion but probably more like zealous (here’s a cool study on God as a jealous God, http://bible.org/seriespage/jealous-god). The first revelation is in John 2:13-16. Jesus finds

Jeff and Jed, Salvations, Soberness, Street preaching, Assa Mix in Kampii

The above photo is the result of our team ugly sweater photo shoot :) I should have more on Facebook sometime!

It seems like when ever you get Jeff (our DTS leader) and Jed (our brother-in-law and CommTrans alum) together crazy things happen! Its evident from the stories they came to us with from their trip in Amsterdam with the other outreach team. I think its because they just love Jesus and fire our teams up and we regain perspective on

The warmth of Jesus heals at any temperature…even -22F

This Friday, we partnered with the free church and handed out hot coffee, hot chocolate and cookies to people on the streets. We went out in shifts because it was so cold we could only be out for 30 minutes. The group at the church would be intercessors for the people on the streets. I have had a cold for about a month now and am trying to get rid of it by staying in the warmth so I decided not to go out into the cold. After the 3rd shift,

Jesus in the story of Isaac and Abraham

I was reading Galatians and came across the section on the 2 sons of Abraham (Galations 4:21-31). I had never read this or stopped enough to meditate on it at least. I love how Paul used the Old testament as an illustration to show the freedom we and the jewish people under the law have in Jesus. Here’s how the story goes, Abraham had 2 sons, one through his slave Hagar and one through Sarah. One son born as a result of sin and through a slave, Ishmael, and one son through the marriage of Abraham and Sarah free and promised by God. He was named Isaac. Jesus came along
