Chasing Mice at Street Church

We’ve been partnering with Street Church every Friday. We hand out Kaffe (Coffee), Choklad (hot chocolate), and some cookies to pedestrians on the street. We strike up conversations to them and of course the topic turns to God as they see our display of Bibles and verses and our jackets that say “Street Church” on them. We find people from all walks of life, countries, and languages in this multicultural city. During the last one on Friday, Rex, Christian (our good friend from here in Malmo) and I went on a prayer walk. It was such a amazing time with the Lord! We just prayed for the Spirit to

Rosengård, the Beautiful

“I am the way, the truth, and the life” – Jesus

Someone once told me about a study where someone spoke positive words to one glass of water and negative words to another. Under a microscope, there was a amazing difference in quality. After hearing of this study, it made so much sense to me. I see people that have always had bad things spoken to them directly or indirectly and it effects the rest of their life in a negative way. Camille just talked to a guy that was in a gang and he said he never had anyone encouraging him so he found a place that made him feel like he belongs. Many times our insecurities come from negative comments about us we have heard long ago and they stick with us. We call this speaking death over something

Goodbye Sweden, Hello Malmo

We left Linkoping and traveled by bus the 5 1/2 hours to the city of Malmo (3rd largest city in sweden). We could tell once we stepped of the train that this city was going to be quite different to the very Swedish towns we were just in. There was a noticeable change is the people and the stores. The people here are mostly immigrants from eastern europe or the middle east. The stores have swedish and arabic languages on them. Falafel and Kebab shops are all over the place! We really get the feeling that we have left Sweden! It’s wonderful to see this new culture

We took the city bus to Rosengard and started walking at night in a place that supposedly the Swedish Police sometimes don’t go into. As we walked we were hearing these large bangs. We were like “gunshots!”

Love Supernatural

What is our motivation behind our actions? There are many motivations for what we do: greed, power, lust, and hate, but I am finding out that the most important and most lasting actions are done out of love. I am convinced more and more that love is the most powerful force in this world. It makes even more sense when we read that God is love (1 John 4:8).

The other motivations fail in comparison to actions done out of love. I’ve heard of so many stories of one person’s hate being overwhelmed by love. Why is it? We weren’t made to hate, we weren’t made to seek power, we weren’t made to be motivated by greed, we were made to love and

Jesus Bus Linkoping

Jesus är Herre

We had the privilege to tag along with a church that does a Jesus Bus ministry. Linköping, Sweden, is a college town and so many of the youth go to a strip of bars in the town center to hang out with friends. The Jesus Bus has been coming to the town square for quite awhile. It is well known in the town for serving warm Glogg and coffee with a hot pastry on Saturday nights from around 10PM to 2AM. It gives the group a chance to strike up conversations with students and people from town. Many times it results in prayer and ministering to these people.

I was so encouraged to see the healthy way the group goes about “evangelizing”. It is set up in almost the same way
