We met to have a Sunday night worship session featuring Fire and Fragrance the DTS focused on worship and intercession on campus. After some worship music and prayer, Andy said he felt like the Lord wanted to say a few things to specific individuals in class. I sat there thinking this is going to be interesting to see who he calls out. The first words out of his mouth:
Salt. It’s not exactly a romantic ingredient. It’s kind of like the workhorse of spices and ingredients. It can be used to add flavor to foods that lack flavor or have lost their flavor. It can be rubbed in to preserve. It can be used in other ways besides in the kitchen like cleaning wounds.
This week’s speaker was Marty Meyer (he and his wife, Kelly, run YWAM Idaho ywamidaho.org) and he spoke on the Father heart of God. I’ve prayed to the father my whole life (“Our Father who art in heaven..”) but this brought to light a much deeper and more meaningful relationship of God as our Father.
What a crazy past 3 days! Tuesday we flew from Greenville to Dallas to Maui to Honolulu to Kona finally at around 11 PM (5AM our time). Our leader Jeff picked us up and gave us lei’s they had made themselves. We stayed with him and Bethany for a few days before we finally settled into our room at the GO center (GO stands for Global Outreach). We got a great welcoming to Hawaii by Jeff and Bethany and it was a fun time hang out with them before classes start. We also got to “sit in” on the staff worship
