The AWAKEN DTS has begun! After all the preparation, prayer, thought, discussion, and meetings, the students and first speaker (Philip York) are here. Now begins a new phase, a transition from preparation to application. 59 students from over 12 countries have come to learn more about God. Its quite a task and quite a privilege that God has put us in this position. I can get quickly overwhelmed thinking about it beyond a day!
We are made to create. Think about it. The first sentence of the Bible has God creating and He has never stopped! It’s amazing that God chooses us to partner with him and create and in fact blesses us saying “Be fruitful and increase in number” (Gen 1:28). Also, God created all the earth and everything in it and he gave Adam the fun task of naming the animals. He loves when we partner
We have returned from our “retreat” advance to Makapala for DTS staff bonding and to receive from God his plans for the school. Basically, we took 3 days and offered them up to God to do what he wills for us as a group and school. We knew one thing: God would meet and speak to us as He always does. His faithfulness is awe-inspiring.
Over the past year, I’ve been trying to define what a missionary is in my own head, because I think God is calling me to be one. I think its an interesting topic for the church today also. How do you define it? and I think more importantly we should ask God how He defines it. Interestingly, here’s how the dictionary defines it:
God has been showing me just how jealous he is for my heart, your heart, and the hearts of the lost! Also, note jealousness is not like what we think of as negative emotion but probably more like zealous (here’s a cool study on God as a jealous God, http://bible.org/seriespage/jealous-god).
